On Wednesday the 2nd, we prayed for and remembered this year's faithful departed during our annual All Souls Remembrance Mass. Thank you to Dolores Urban and the bereavement team for planning and setting up the beautiful social afterward. If you currently have a picture of a loved one on the altar steps, you may pick it up any time in November.

Shining Stars is our religious education program held during the 10:15 Mass for pre-school children ages 3 through 5. This is a wonderful time for your children to learn about Sunday's Gospel and develop a closer relationship with Jesus. Shining Stars runs from October through April. We meet over in the OLM building. You can drop off your child/ren at 10:00-10:05 am before you go to the 10:15 Mass. Pick-up will be immediately after Mass ends. Helping the Needy Ministry (HTN) is looking for volunteers (men and women) to tutor children at the Francis Willard Elementary School in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Your help would be needed usually on a Monday during the school year. Tutors meet at St. Alphonsus at 11 am and carpool together, returning by 3 pm. Please consider giving your time to this rewarding and fulfilling ministry. This weekend we are happy to welcome Father Phelim Jordan, a Divine Word Missionary priest, who is joining us for the Missionary Cooperative Program of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Father will speak about the many ministries of his religious community, which serves in 79 countries.

Called to be Saints, a Catholic faith community of young adults and young families, invites you to join us on 7/7/22 for our monthly Disciple Night at St. Catherine of Siena, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA. We welcome Father Shaun Mahoney for a discussion St. John Neumann and his last legacy and impact on Philadelphia. Fr Mahoney serves as the Director of the Temple University Newman Center and the Spiritual Director of the Catholic Center for Young Adults.
