If you have a child entering 5th -8th grade and would like them to pursue altar server training, now is the time to contact us! There will be various opportunities for training sessions throughout the year. Once trained, new servers will be assigned with current servers so that they feel comfortable on the altar and are able to continue to learn. Archbishop Perez, Chair of the CRS Board, has asked people to join him in contacting our elected federal officials regarding the recent loss of federal funding for Catholic Relief Services. Your voice is urgently needed. The House of Representatives recently voted to pass a package of cuts, called rescissions, that were requested by the White House. This is the first of many packages expected to eliminate even more lifesaving international assistance programs. This will be a space for connection, encouragement, prayer, and shared wisdom. Whether you're in the thick of diaper duty, navigating teen years, or offering a listening ear from years of experience, there's a place for you here. Moms with grown children or grandchildren — we would especially love your presence and mentorship. Your journey can be a source of guidance and support for those just beginning theirs. Our Fall Pre-Cana session is scheduled for Friday, October 24th, evening, and Saturday, October 25th. Friday evening is an informal hour to get to know the married and soon-to-be married couples participating, and typically lasts from 6:30PM to 9:00PM. Saturday's session is from 8:30AM to 3:00PM and includes discussions and interactive sessions to help engaged couples with a deeper understanding of marriage and each other. Morgan’s librarian, who hid her identity as a Black American woman in the early 20th century. Becoming an integral part of New York Society, she built up a world-class library and kept her secret. We’ve purchased the DVD, I Am With You: A Documentary on Carlo Acutis, and you can now borrow it for a week to enjoy at home. The St. Alphonsus Health and Wellness Ministry will be hosting a “Pinochle Club,” starting March 11th and then every Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Narthex meeting room. Whether you are a seasoned pro, a novice, or just curious and want to learn, come join us. It’ll be a time for community, sharing, conversation, and just plain old fun! A sign-up sheet will be available in the Narthex meeting room. But if you can’t decide or don’t know your schedule, just stop by. All are welcome!

Saint Alphonsus HTN (Helping Thy Neighbor) Ministry is now collecting furniture for needy families through May for their Spring session. Furniture especially needed: bedroom dressers, chest, end tables, kitchen and dining room tables and chairs; living room chairs, loveseats and small sofas; end tables and coffee tables. Join Monsignor Hennessy for a conversation on the Liturgy of the Hours, the daily prayer of the Church, which allows us to make holy our day and to pray without ceasing. We will learn about the different hours of prayer and how we can pray these collections of the Psalms, Sacred Scriptures and writings of the Church and Saints. Whether by using the official books or an app on your phone or tablet, everyone can join in this prayer and give a new rhythm to their day, even by praying just one of the hours.
