Shining Stars is our religious education program held during the 10:15 Mass for pre-school children ages 3 through 5. This is a wonderful time for your children to learn about Sunday's Gospel and develop a closer relationship with Jesus. Shining Stars runs from October through April. We meet over in the OLM building. You can drop off your child/ren at 10:00-10:05 am before you go to the 10:15 Mass. Pick-up will be immediately after Mass ends. The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has launched a website with resources to support those who are experiencing mental health struggles and those who love them. The website offers links to find Catholic clinicians, local crisis response phone numbers and ministries that can assist with recovery and healing. In addition, there are tools to help parishes, schools and institutions cultivate a deeper awareness of and responsiveness to these realities, suffered by so many. Registration for Fall St. Alphonsus CYO Sports is now open! It will close on 8/15/23 - early registration allows us to plan accordingly for the number of teams. Fall Sports include: Cross Country for K thru 8th (Coed), Soccer 3rd thru 8th (Girls and Boys teams are separate), 3/4 grade, 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade, Volleyball 5th thru 8th (Girls Only), 5/6 grade, 7/8 grade. Join our PREP team of missionary disciples! Please consider helping our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) by serving as a catechist or assistant. Our Fall session is scheduled on Friday (October 27th) evening and Saturday (October 28th). Friday evening is an informal social hour to get to know the married and soon-to-be married couples participating and typically lasts from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM. Saturday's session is from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM and includes discussions, and interactive sessions to help engaged couples with a deeper understanding of marriage and each other. The Saint Alphonsus Health and Wellness Ministry will be offering a blood pressure screening next weekend. Several nurses will be on-site in the Narthex after the 5 o’clock Mass on May 20th and the 10:15 Mass on May 21st. You do not need to reserve an appointment for this screening.

Today, Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, is pleased to share that Pope Francis has named Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, as the 12th Bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg. Founded in 1868, the Diocese of Harrisburg is home to over 200,000 Catholics from 15 counties in central Pennsylvania. The Saint Alphonsus HTN Ministry is now collecting furniture for needy families through the end of May. The collection is specifically for the following furniture: bedroom dressers, chests, end tables, kitchen and dining room tables and chairs; living room chairs, loveseats and small sofas; end tables and coffee tables. Join the women of the Parish for another session of Walking with Purpose entitled Reclaiming Friendship on Wednesdays, 7-8:30 PM beginning April 12th to end before Memorial Day! Walking with Purpose is a Catholic Bible study program that aims to bring women to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It combines personal study with small group discussion, linking our everyday challenges to the solutions given to us through the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church.
